ABSTRACT
In redesigning the Dudley Commons, functionality was of the utmost importance. In order to create a functional learning space the courtyard was designed and separated into four separate and distinct areas. Depicted in this plans are the north, west, and east zones. These areas cohesively flow together while simultaneously ushering traffic through the space.
CURRENT CONDITIONS

The Dudley Hall Commons is home to the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction. As such, one of the biggest events that is held in the courtyard space is the Annual Pumpkin Carve Competition hosted by APLA. In addition to that, the courtyard space is often used as a place for thru traffic. Depicted in this plan are the current conditions of the Dudley Hall courtyard.

EAST SECTION
ELEVATION
In implementing and establishing a cave like learning space, the Dudley Commons gallery was transformed into an area to allow for rest and personal reflection. Divided into four zones, this space allows students to come after class and not only relax but reflect on what they've learned.
